IAN KESERICH HIRED AS GOALTENDING COACH
The Junior Oilers have hired Ian Keserich as the goaltending coach.
TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Junior Oilers, proud member of the NA3HL and partner of the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills and Ruffin Event Center, announced Wednesday the hiring of Ian Keserich as the goaltending coach.
Keserich, 39, was selected 215th overall in the seventh round of the 2004 NHL draft by the Colorado Avalanche, earning call-ups to the AHL where he’d spend time with the Binghamton Senators and Houston Aeros amid his lengthy professional career.
“Ian brings a lot of knowledge of the position to the game,” said General Manager Chi-Yin Tse. “We are happy to officially announce him as our goaltending coach. He has done a tremendous job with our goalies this season and will be invaluable to future players coming through Tulsa. This is a great opportunity for us to continue to bring in and develop high level goaltenders. I believe that our values and vision align, helping us create Tulsa into a goaltending hub.”
The Parma, Ohio native spent time with the Colorado Eagles, Mississippi Riverkings, Johnstown Chiefs, Wichita Thunder and Elmira Jackals.
His new coaching position marks his return to Tulsa, after playing 116 games between the pipes donning the navy and maroon in both the CHL and ECHL era prior to his retirement.
The Jr. Oilers are back in action for their final home series on Friday, Feb. 7 against the Louisiana Drillers. Puck drop from the WeStreet Ice Center is set for 7 p.m.
